Description
Description
A glued dowel joint only closes if the holes in both boards line up. The Dowel Jig Kit has a center-line pointer that you set on the pencil mark across the joint. You then drill three straight holes at one clamping, and the same setting on the mating board puts its holes right across from them.
Nine hardened steel bushings come in the kit, three each for 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in dowels, with a matching bit for each size. Positive edge stops click in 1/8 in steps, and the laser scale reads in 1/16 in, so the holes sit centered on any board thickness.
Once the edge stop is set, it repeats the same position on every board, which keeps a set of table aprons or face frame parts identical. An extension rod and position pins space holes wherever you want them along a wider panel. The quick clamp comes off if you prefer your own clamps. Butt, miter, edge, T, multi-row and center joints all work.

Questions
Questions about the GOINGMAKE Dowel Jig Kit
Which dowel sizes can you drill with the GOINGMAKE dowel jig?
1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in. The kit has three bushings and one bit for each size. See dowels and drilling jigs for picking a size.
Do you have to use the clamp that comes on the GOINGMAKE dowel jig?
No. The quick clamp comes off, and your own woodworking clamps can hold the jig instead on parts where it does not reach, such as a wide panel.
Hinge cups are drilled and hinge mortises are routed: both go best with the work clamped and your eyes covered.
