Square holes away from the drill press
Two of these guides carry a 1/2 in self-locking chuck on steel rods and take your cordless drill, so a hole in a wide panel or a fitted cabinet comes out square. One tilts from -60 to 60 degrees on positive stops, the other stays at 90 with a depth stop. A V-groove in each base centers a dowel or a post.
For rows, the shelf pin jigs drill 1/4 in or 5 mm holes through hardened guides at 32 mm spacing, 37, 50 or 64 mm from the edge. The dog hole guide drills a bench top on a 20 mm or 3/4 in grid.
Every drill guide on this shelf belongs to the GOINGMAKE collection. Before you set up a drill guide, read Pocket holes, dowels and dog holes: drilling with a jig instead of by eye.
Questions
Questions about GOINGMAKE drill guides
Will your drill fit the GOINGMAKE portable drill guides?
The straight and the angled guide take 3/8 and 1/2 in cordless drills and carry their own 1/2 in self-locking chuck on steel rods.
Should you buy the 20 mm or the 3/4 in GOINGMAKE dog hole guide?
Pick the size your dogs and clamps use and keep it for the whole top. 20 mm suits MFT-style accessories, and our bench dog clamp has a 3/4 in rod. See drilling a dog hole grid.
What spacing will you get from GOINGMAKE shelf pin jigs?
Rows at 32 mm, the European cabinet system, with the first hole 37, 50 or 64 mm from the edge. The 1/4 in jig drills seven holes at a time, and jigs join end to end for a tall side.
A bit that catches spins the stock in your hand. Clamp the work, and collect the dust the bit throws.
